Have you ever soldered before? Did you know that robots can be programmed to perform invasive surgery more precisely than any surgeon? SWE’s annual High School Day at Carnegie Mellon University introduces young women in high school to educational opportunities and careers in engineering and the applied sciences. High School Day consists of a series of workshops and an engineering fair designed to stimulate interest in science and technology. It aims to give high school students a taste of the various engineering disciplines, and how they impact our everyday lives. Professors, researchers, and students on campus all collaborate to share their passion for engineering and the applied sciences to high school students through fun activities and dynamic discussions in a friendly atmosphere. Participants get a first hand look at cutting edge technology and learn how they, too, can become engineers.
Are you a student at CMU and want to volunteer to help this year? Help
